ArtSway Open 05 Exhibition Opens Today
Estela Alba, 'Poseidon Bored with His Sea' (detail), oil on metal, 98 x 98cm.
SWAY, HAMPSHIRE, UK.-With no theme restricting ArtSway Open05, artists from around the UK, as well as international artists, have responded to the opportunity to exhibit their work by submitting a broad range of artworks in various media for selection. The resulting high-quality exhibition exemplifies the plurality of current artistic practice and can be enjoyed by audiences from the South of England and across the UK. This year sees the highest level of submissions for ArtSway's annual Open Exhibition, of which the exhibition will feature the best works - including painting, print, sculpture and new media - selected by Mark Segal, Director of ArtSway and Peter Bonnell, Exhibitions & Education Officer.

The winner of ArtSway Open05 will be awarded the prize of a solo exhibition at ArtSway in 2006, providing an invaluable opportunity for an artist to show work in a professional environment and to receive marketing and mentoring support. Julie Marsh, winner of last year's Open Exhibition Commonground, had a successful show at ArtSway in May and June 2005, affording her career a significant boost as a professional artist.

Most of the work in ArtSway Open05 is for sale, which means that the exhibition is an excellent opportunity to buy high quality art at affordable prices. ArtSway is part of Art Council England Own Art scheme, allowing for interest free credit.
