Richard Schmid Makes Premier Appearance in NYC at Salmagundi Club
NEW YORK, NY.- The Salmagundi Club, located at 47 Fifth Avenue, will host Richard Schmid and His Influence, which features new Schmid paintings as well as distinguished masterpieces from private collections. Also showcased are art works by twelve nationally recognized artists whom Schmid has directly taught, mentored, and influenced. The theme of the installation is Childhood Innocence, which allows the artists to depict not only children, but also the toys, pets, and other possessions they cherish. The exhibition opens on Saturday, June 6, with an artists reception from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, followed the next day by a ticketed presentation and book signing by Schmid at 1:00 PM (tickets must be purchased in advance at Theatermania.com and will benefit the Salmagundi Club Gallery renovation). The exhibition will be open to the public through June 13, 1:00 - 5:00 PM daily.

New Hampshire-based representational artist Schmid is renowned for his virtuoso-brushwork, best-selling instruction manuals, and talented students. This exhibition, organized by Schmid's representative West Wind Fine Art, includes work by some of these gifted students, as well as those he mentored or influenced. Foremost are his wife, Nancy Guzik, and close friend Timothy R. Thies, as well as Casey Baugh, Clayton Beck, Scott Burdick, Rose Frantzen, Daniel Gerhartz, Susan Lyon, Paul Mullally, Gretchen Schmid, Molly Schmid, and Judy Stach.
