Masterpieces to Appear in the Upcoming Art Revolution Taipei 2011
A.R.T. will include a section called “They Are Masters,” in which the works of Joan Miró will be on display.
TAIPEI.- Have you ever seen the one-and-only “red print” by Rembrandt The first annual Art Revolution Taipei 2011 fair (A.R.T. 2011), to be held this coming May, will invite over 187 artists from 22 nations to participate. In addition, A.R.T. will include a section called “They Are Masters,” in which the works of Rembrandt van Rijn, Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, Salvador Dalí., and the like will be on display.

“Some of Chagall’s works created in his later years will be showcased at A.R.T. 2011, which will beautifully compliment an exhibition titled “Celebration by Marc Chagall” held at Taipei’s National Palace Museum between February and May!”, says Lee Sun Don, the Art Director of A.R.T. 2011,” We will also have Miró’s artworks of equivalent quality to those collected by Tate Modern in London -- Miró’s original painting juxtaposed with its print. We can even see the notes marked on the original by Miró!”

The final artist’s proof of one of the works by Pablo Ruiz Picasso will also be exhibited. Rarely seen in the market, artist’s proofs by renowned masters are almost all in the collection of world-class museums.

“We make a great effort to put together these masterpieces from major collectors all over the world. It is because we believe that Taiwan can, and should, hold an art fair on a truly global scale,” said ART 2011’s Executive Director John Cheng.
