Bonhams flagship sale in Paris: Over one-hundred cars to be offered on February 2
Among the top quality French motors is our catalogue cover lot, the 1926 Amilcar C6/CO Voiturette (estimate €460,000 – 540,000), an impressive racing car which has been in the USA since the end of World War II. The car has not been offered in the European market since new. Photo: Bonhams.
PARIS.- Over 100 cars and 35 motorcycles, including several high quality French built cars and three private collections, are to be sold at Bonhams’ next motor car and motorcycle sale that will now be held in Paris on Thursday 2 February 2012.

Initially scheduled for 1 February, Bonhams has decided to move its sale to Thursday 2 February, after a competitor cancelled its sale on that day. Bonhams believes that the move to Thursday 2 February will facilitate buying opportunities for those attending the car auctions in Paris.

Bonhams Paris Sale will be presented as a ‘drive through’ auction to allow the clientele to see and hear the cars prior to going under the hammer and is to be held in an impressive and well located new venue, La Halle Freyssinet.

Among the top quality French motors is our catalogue cover lot, the 1926 Amilcar C6/CO Voiturette (estimate €460,000 – 540,000), an impressive racing car which has been in the USA since the end of World War II. The car has not been offered in the European market since new.

Another superb French built car is the 1935 Delage D8 105 S Streamlined Coupé (estimate €280,000 – 360,000), which is extremely rare as the sole survivor of its type. Fully restored, it has been shown at the renowned Concorso D’Eleganza Ville D’Este.

Other important French cars include the 1905 Darracq Flying Fifteen Rear Entrance Tonneau (estimate €175,000 – 205,000); the 1921 Bugatti Type 23 Brescia (estimate €100,000 – 140,000); and the 1911 Delaunay-Belleville HB4 Tourer (estimate £150,000 – 180,000).

In addition, sale highlights include a range of four Ferrari 250GT models, such as the 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Pinin Farina Coupé (estimate €200,000 – 300,000), which comes from long term ownership and a well respected European collector; and the 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Boano ‘low-roof’ Coupe, one of 88 models built between 1955 and 1957 and Mille Miglia eligible.

The sale also features several private collections. One of these is the collection of ‘Mr L’, including the 1957 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I Cabriolet Drophead Coupé in the style of Mulliner (estimate: €135,000 - 175,000); the 1960 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II LWB (estimate: €45,000 - 75,000); and the 1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I standard Saloon (estimate €40,000 - 55,000).

As previously announced, the top lot of the sale is a 1961 Aston Martin DB4GT Coupé, which has attracted a pre-sale estimate of €1,100,000 – 1,400,000.
The sale is once again being kindly supported by EFG International, the global private banking group.
