Museum of Modern Art's Fifth Annual Film Benefit to honor Quentin Tarantino
The Film Benefit will be highlighted by a special presentation recognizing Tarantino's acclaimed directorial work, followed by a gala dinner.
NEW YORK, NY.- The Museum of Modern Art's fifth annual Film Benefit, to be held on December 3, will honor writer/director Quentin Tarantino, renowned for the Academy Award-winning films Pulp Fiction (1994) and Inglourious Basterds (2009), and earlier hit films Reservoir Dogs (1992), Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003), and Kill Bill Vol. 2 (2004), among others. Tarantino's latest film, Django Unchained, will be released by The Weinstein Company on December 25, 2012.

Rajendra Roy, The Celeste Bartos Chief Curator of Film at MoMA, states: "As a celebrated auteur director, Tarantino has leveraged his deep knowledge of cinema history to engage, entertain, and inform a new generation of movie fans. Honoring him is a small way to pay homage to the important service he has done to propel and promote the art form."

MoMA's vast film collection includes Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Jackie Brown, and Pulp Fiction. Sin City (2005), for which he was a special guest director, is also in the Museum's collection.

The Film Benefit will be highlighted by a special presentation recognizing Tarantino's acclaimed directorial work, followed by a gala dinner. The event's honorary co-chairs are Marie-Josée Kravis, President, and Jerry I. Speyer, Chairman of the Museum's Board of Trustees. The Film Benefit raises funds to ensure that great works of cinema continue to join the collection of The Museum of Modern Art.
