TOKYO.- Since the appointment of Takahiro Kaneshima as Executive Director of ART FAIR TOKYO on June 1, 2010, the ART FAIR TOKYO Committee has been going through a process of restructuring with renewed focus being given to Tokyo’s role as a city within Asia.

The PROJECTS Artistic Committee, which consists of four collectors and arts professionals from Japan and other countries in East Asia, was established in order to strengthen the fair’s foundation in its region. The creation of this committee represents the first attempt to make a fair in Asia that really represents Asia as a whole. We expect that it will enhance the fair’s appeal to the global market significantly.

Meanwhile, at the conclusion of ART FAIR TOKYO 2010, Atsuko Koyanagi (GALLERY KOYANAGI) and Shugo Satani (ShugoArts) stepped down as members of the fair’s Art Committee, in which they had served tirelessly since the fair’s first edition. Their positions as gallerists in the committee have been filled by Tomoko Aratani and Mutsumi Urano (both from ARATANIURANO).

Misa Shin, the former Executive Director, now serves as an Advisor to ART FAIR TOKYO, while Masami Shiraishi (SCAI THE BATHHOUSE), the former Advisor becomes Honorary Advisor.

Bora Hong Director of Gallery FACTORY (Seoul)
Bora Hong was born in 1972 in Busan, South Korea and is currently based in Seoul. After graduating with an M.A. in Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she has been involved in various art and design exhibitions as well as public art projects as commissioner or director. Hong started a multi-disciplinary art space, Gallery FACTORY, in 2002 with the aim of supporting young and upcoming artists through various exhibitions held at the space and audience participation programs. She has also lectured on exhibition planning and art marketing at several universities including Ewha Women’s University (Seoul) and Seoul National University.

Hu Fang Artistic Director of Vitamin Creative Space (Guangzhou) / the shop (Beijing), Fiction Writer
Hu Fang was born in 1970 in China. Hu is co-founder and artistic director of Vitamin Creative Space in Guangzhou and the shop in Beijing. Within the contemporary art context, his daily practices focus on the process of initiating diverse spacial models to open up new possibilities of “species of spaces”, basing on intensive dialogues and collaborations with artists and through the negotiations of independence within the Chinese context. He has been involved in various international art projects including documenta 12 magazines in 2007 as coordinating editor and YOKOHAMA TRIENNALE 2008 as co-curator. Writing fiction parallels his practices and his recent novel is Garden of Mirrored Flowers. He is currently based in Guangzhou and Beijing.

Daisuke Miyatsu Art collector (Tokyo)
Daisuke Miyatsu was born in 1963 in Tokyo. The first artwork that he purchased was by Yayoi Kusama in 1994 and since then he has continued to collect works by her as well as by artists of his own generation. In 1999, in collaboration with Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Shimabuku, Miyatsu started a project called the Dream House, which he currently resides and which is still a work-in-progress. His collection was showcased at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery in the exhibition, Why not live for Art? (2004) and at the DELIM CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM’s Collection 2 -Collector's Choice- (Seoul, 2007). Miyatsu has recently published Gendai-art wo kaou! (How to create an art collection), Shueisha Shinsho and has been part of several talk events at museums and art fairs. He currently works at a Tokyo-based company.

Rudy Tseng Art collector (Taipei)
Rudy Tseng was born in 1959 in Taipei. He is now a full-time art collector based in Taipei. His collection started 15 years ago initially with modern art. His interest in the YBAs (Young British Artists) sparked further interests in Asian art, including that from China and Japan, as well as European and American contemporary art. Tseng’s previous job was Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company (Taiwan). His 17 years of experience in the movie industry - and the chance that it provided to watch countless films - allowed him to have a profound interest towards video art. He has lectured at the Shieh Chien University Graduate Institute of Visual Media (Taiwan) and has been engaged actively in the contemporary art scene by attending major biennales and art fairs. He is also an international member of the Mori Art Museum (Tokyo).
